First Day on Etsy

Well, today was my first day as a seller on Etsy and I'd say it went pretty well! As of 7:00pm tonight I've sold 6 bars of soap and have been absolutly over the moon with excitement about it!
Later this week I will be rolling out the Shaving soap line onto ETSY, so we'll see how that goes over! In the mean time I hope all of your dreams come true, have a great night! :)

Lutefisk and other scary traditions......

Earlier tonight I made an off handed remark to some friends in which I vowed to never make a Lutefisk scented soap. For those who don't know what Lutefisk is, count your blessing because it likely means you've never had it. But for those of you 'in the know' you know that Lutefisk is a Scandinavian tradition where fish is first soaked in Lye before going through a few more phases to become the holiday meal that we either love to eat or hide under the dinner table to avoid. (I happen to be the latter of the two, sorry to all those who adore Lutefisk.) It occured to me, however, that like Lutefisk, the first phase of soap involves Lye...Hmmmmm, I think I'm gonna to head to the studio now. This might actually be a funny idea, presenting my oh-so-Swedish family with some Lutefisk soap in the shape of those little Swedish fish gummy candies! I may be a woman of my word, but I only promised that it wouldn't SMELL like Lutefisk. Just a thought that I thought I'd share here. Cheers! And here's to hoping your Holiday season is the best one yet!

Here I go!

HI everyone! Welcome to my humble little corner of the cyber-village! My name is Andi Brown and I own/operate a little Soap Co. called Trad Hus Botanisk. (pronounced Trod Hoos) Trad Hus is Swedish for Tree House and Botanisk is Swedish for Botanicals. I've been a soap maker for years now but decided recently to make it my full time job. There are a couple of sayings that I adore 1.) "Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life" and 2.) "do what you love and the money will follow" Basically I'm putting those sayings to the test.
Being a new (very, very new) entreprenuer I am still in the scared out of my whits phase of things, trying to get organized, and trying to stay on track. First things first. Inventory...check! Website up?....Check! Etsy account set up along with Paypal account?...Check! Customer base?.....one so far (that isn't related to me in anyway :) My determination and hope are fully intact and strong as can be, so here I go, ready to walk on faith! Wish me luck!
